The short version
Sponsor York 911 Online does not require an account and does not ask visitors to submit personal information through the incident explorer. Like most websites, the hosting server may create limited technical logs needed for security, reliability, and troubleshooting.
Information handled by the website
The project processes public incident records obtained from York County’s public WebCAD source. Those records may include incident labels, listed roads or intersections, municipalities, box numbers, source links, and timestamps. They are public-source records, not information submitted by website visitors.
- Standard server logs may include an IP address, browser type, requested page, referring page, timestamp, and response status.
- The incident search and filters are sent to this server so matching archive records can be returned. Search values are not used to create user profiles.
- This version does not use visitor accounts, advertising pixels, or a site-operated location service.
Maps and third-party services
The map uses OpenStreetMap tiles. When a visitor opens a map, the browser connects to the OpenStreetMap tile service, which may receive technical request information under its own policies. Individual approximate points are derived from public record location text and validated geocoding results. Records without a validated street result may be grouped at a U.S. Census municipality-area anchor, and records without a reliable municipality are not pinned. No map point should be treated as exact or scene verified.
External links and donations
Links to York County, Pennsylvania agencies, the National Weather Service, Facebook, sponsors, 511PA, Ready PA, and PayPal leave this website. Those services control their own privacy practices. A PayPal donation is handled by PayPal; this website does not receive or store payment-card details.
Security and retention
Reasonable technical safeguards are used to limit access to runtime data files and to reduce common browser and code-injection risks. No internet service can promise absolute security. Server logs are retained only as long as reasonably needed for hosting security, reliability, abuse prevention, and troubleshooting.
Children and sensitive information
The site is intended as a general public information resource. It is not designed to collect personal information from children. Do not send sensitive personal, medical, legal, or emergency information to this project. Call 911 for emergencies.
Questions or changes
